About the teachers:
Nailah Middleton is a Caribbean-American musician, visual artist, and writer based in Los Angeles. With her harp and fx units, she conjures up ethereal sonic landscapes perfect for inward exploration and spiritual rejuvenation. Nailah sings in a variety of languages and styles that include classical, jazz, bossa nova, salsa, traditional Javanese, and alternative pop. A graduate of the Herb Alpert School of Music at California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), with a BFA in vocal performance, she has performed at venues such as Carnegie Hall, The Troubadour, the House of Blues, and The Dresden.
Erica Rey is a Latinx certified Ayurvedic Practitioner and yoga instructor who also offers herbal medicine, bodywork, and doula services. She is passionate about healing and is committed to accessibility and intentionality that allow these practices to be tools of resilience and sustainability for our communities. Erica holds a BA in World Arts and Cultures from UCLA, an Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor certification from Kerala Ayurveda Academy, Certified Doula and Community Birthworker training from Matriz Birthwork and Ayurvedic Wellness Practitioner and Herbal Medicine degrees from Southern California University of Health Sciences. Erica guides yoga at People's Yoga and offers Ayurvedic consultations and yoga at WeSpark Cancer Support Center.
