Words Beyond Words: Exploring the Practice of Buddhist Poetry with Ruth Tsuria

Words Beyond Words: Exploring the Practice of Buddhist Poetry with Ruth Tsuria

Date: Saturdays, October 23, October 30, November 6, 2021

Time: 3pm - 4pm PST

Suggested donation: $20 (See payment section below)

In this 3-part workshop, we will explore the practice of poetry, which has a long tradition in Buddhism - from Sidharrta to the Beat Generation. Together, we will look at some of the major themes, read heart-opening poems, and dabble in writing ourselves.

You do not have to be a poet to attend - only to have an open heart and mind, and the willingness to explore using poetry as a practice to touch into unspoken truths, a space beyond space, words beyond words... Oh, and you may need a pen.

Ruth Tsuria is an aspiring poet and meditation teacher. She is a professor of communication, studying the impact of words (especially in digital media) on our conception of the world. In these workshops, Ruth will combine her academic expertise with her love of poetry.
