Unlocking the Wisdom of the Body

Join InsightLA facilitator Robin Hart for this 4-week in-person series exploring mindfulness and the body.
We use the body as a means to develop mindfulness and to unlock the wisdom held within the body. By bringing our awareness to the physical sensations that are happening in the body, we develop our ability to be in the present moment. We also develop the capacity to be with comfort and discomfort, recognize intuition and allow for change. As we investigate and learn to be with whatever arises without judgement, we unlock our internal strength and wisdom.
This class is adapted for every persons capability and needs. All are welcome!
- How our body feels during seated meditations with the breath, sound, and body scan meditation
- The way that movement impacts our practice utilizing walking meditation and other body movements such as light stretching and Qi Gong
- How difficult and joyous emotions effect the body
Exploring the body is an important aspect of meeting the world with mindfulness. Join us for this reflective and enriching series!
A professional dancer and dance teacher for 17 years, Robin is now a personal trainer (a position which she has held for the last 25 years) and graduate of the InsightLA Facilitator program. She has co-taught the practice group Breakfast for the Spirit, as well as numerous other beginner Mindfulness courses. Robin has experienced double hip replacements and other injuries throughout her career, and recognizes the importance of gentleness and care when it comes to the body and movement.
