In keeping with the rising interest in the health benefits of fermented foods like sauerkraut, kimchi, yogurt, and kombucha, we are launching a series of “how-to classes” on making your own fermented foods.
Kombucha is a fermented, lightly effervescent, sweetened tea drink known by the Chinese as the “Immortal Health Elixir”. It contains a variety of vitamins, minerals and enzymes and has been prized by traditional cultures for its health-promoting properties.
Once an obscure drink found at health food stores, it now widely available at most grocery stores. But why pay up to $5 for a bottle of Kombucha when you can learn how to brew your own continuous supply at home for pennies?
A limited number of kombucha “starter” kits will be available to take home with you.
ABOUT THE TEACHERS
