The spiritual goal of freedom and the practices leading to that goal are sometimes regarded as separable from the activities and responsibilities of our ordinary, everyday lives. In this talk, Lama Marut will guide us in an examination of the nature of liberation: what we are striving to be free from and what we hope to become free to do. The talk will take as its launching point the Zen adage: "Before enlightenment, chop wood, carry water. After enlightenment, chop wood, carry water."
