Introduction to Ayurveda Workshop
Ayurveda is a 5,000 year old ancient healing practice from India that incorporates herbology, nutrition, bodywork, counseling and yoga to heal the entire body and explore the roots of present illness and imbalance. Join Ayurvedic Practitioner Erica Rey in this workshop as we collectively explore the Ayurvedic constitutions, the basic principles and philosophies of Ayurveda, and the accessible ways that Ayurvedic herbs, food guidelines and lifestyle recommendations have proven helpful for addressing both everyday imbalances and chronic illness in a creative and empowering way. You are sure to leave feeling inspired and invigorated to explore the abundance this art and science has to offer!
Bio:
Erica Rey is a Latinx certified Ayurvedic Practitioner and yoga instructor who also offers herbal medicine, bodywork, and doula services. She is passionate about healing and is committed to accessibility and intentionality that allow these practices to be tools of resilience and sustainability for our communities. Erica holds a BA in World Arts and Cultures from UCLA, an Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor certification from Kerala Ayurveda Academy, Certified Doula and Community Birthworker training from Matriz Birthwork and Ayurvedic Wellness Practitioner and Herbal Medicine degrees from Southern California University of Health Sciences. Erica guides yoga at People's Yoga and offers Ayurvedic consultations and yoga at WeSpark Cancer Support Center.
Cost: $30 or whatever you can afford (nobody will be turned away due to lack of funds)
